Max Martinez and Scott Seale, owners and operators of MAX Clothing Store, recently purchased the former Smith & Hawken building at 264-268 Detroit Street in Cherry Creek North. Currently located at 3039 East 3rd Avenue, the store is expanding into this new space. The company presently has three other locations in Colorado, one in Denver in the Highlands and one each in Boulder and Aspen.
Interest in the building on Detroit was very strong according to Trevor Brown of Fuller Real Estate, who handled the transaction for John Sheridan of Sheridan Venture Capital. It is one of the very few freestanding buildings with ample parking in Cherry Creek North. The 3,600 SF store was on the market for $2,850,000 and sold for near that price. The building is currently being renovated and is scheduled to open for business August 1, 2010. SBA financing was handled by Kevin Doyle of Wells Fargo Bank.
